Chandigarh / New Delhi, August 3: Renowned Chandigarh-born author and poet Dr. Sazina Khan unveiled her latest poetry collection, She Walked Anyway, at a special literary evening held in New Delhi. The event brought together distinguished personalities from the fields of literature, theatre and the arts for insightful discussions on women’s identity, memory, resilience, self-reliance and personal growth.

The launch ceremony was attended by Prof. (Dr.) K. G. Suresh as the Chief Guest. A panel discussion titled “Walking Through Storms: Women, Memory and the Making of the Inner Self” featured designer, curator and theatre artist Oroon Das alongside internationally acclaimed director and choreographer Dr. Gilles Chuyen. The session was moderated by author and social development expert Meera Khanna.

The newly released collection has already received an overwhelming response from readers and has climbed to the No. 1 position in three different Amazon categories, marking a significant milestone in Dr. Khan’s literary journey.

She Walked Anyway explores themes of courage, identity, healing, grief and self-discovery through a powerful collection of poems. Works such as Unannounced Becoming, Permissionless, Grace, Unrequested, and I Didn’t Ask for Light celebrate the strength to move forward with dignity despite adversity.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sazina Khan said that the book is more than a collection of poems—it is a tribute to everyone who has chosen to preserve their identity and self-worth in the face of life’s challenges. She shared that the book was written as a special gift for her daughter, Daneen, carrying a timeless message of hope, resilience and courage for future generations.

The evening also featured a compelling stage performance of I Didn’t Ask for Light by Oroon Das and Dr. Gilles Chuyen, which received enthusiastic appreciation from the audience. Speakers highlighted poetry’s enduring role in preserving memory, strengthening identity and giving voice to quiet resilience while reflecting on the evolving meaning of equality and empowerment in contemporary society.

The successful launch of She Walked Anyway further strengthens Dr. Sazina Khan’s growing international reputation as a poet and author whose work resonates with readers across the world through its themes of healing, courage and human dignity.
