Chandigarh/ PGIMER Conducts CME on “HIV Update 2025” for Healthcare Professionals of Tricity

Chandigarh : The Centre of Excellence in HIV Care at PGIMER, successfully organized a Continued Medical Education (CME) Program, “HIV Update 2025”, for resident doctors, nurses, and healthcare staff at the Advanced Pediatric Centre, PGIMER. The program was attended by more than 230 participants from PGIMER, General Hospital–Sector 16, GMCH-32, and private hospitals from the Tricity.

The program aimed to update healthcare professionals on the latest advancements in HIV diagnosis, treatment, and management. The scientific sessions covered crucial topics and began with a talk by Dr. Seema Chhabra on HIV testing. Dr. Ravinder Kaur Sachdeva conducted a session on ART initiation and monitoring, highlighting the importance of maintaining strict adherence to ART to achieve an undetectable viral load. Prof. Aman Sharma delivered a talk on post-exposure prophylaxis.

Other important sessions included:
Pulmonary infections in HIV by Dr. Shankar Naidu, who discussed the management of TB, pneumonia, and various lung infections in HIV, along with the role of TB preventive medicine.
Skin infections in HIV by Dr. Tarun Narang, who elaborated on various skin infections and the management of resistant fungal infections in advanced HIV disease.

CNS infections in HIV by Prof. Manish Modi, who shared his expertise in managing neurological complications in HIV. Distinguished chairpersons from various medical disciplines facilitated engaging discussions throughout the sessions.

The event was well attended, reaffirming PGIMER’s commitment to enhancing HIV care and education. The CME concluded with a vote of thanks and high tea, fostering further networking and collaboration among attendees.
