Chandigarh : Government College of Commerce and Business Administration (GCCBA), Sector 50, Chandigarh organized an expert session on drug awareness followed by a farewell ceremony of WADA Club in the college conference room. The event was aimed at educating students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and recognizing the contributions made by the dedicated student members of WADA Club during the academic session.
More than 100 students and faculty members were present at the session. The chief guest of the occasion was Dr. Meenakshi Gupta, an eminent expert from PGIMER, Chandigarh. Dr. Gupta spoke about the devastating impact of drug addiction on health and society and motivated the students to adopt a healthy lifestyle. She emphasized on meditation and mindfulness as effective tools that help resist peer pressure and avoid drug addiction.
Principal Dr. Shashi Vahi Khullar addressed the gathering and appreciated the continuous and praiseworthy efforts of the WADA Club who excelled in spreading awareness and engaging students through various activities.
The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks given by Mr. Gurjinder Singh, Convener of WADA Club who acknowledged the support of the college administration, faculty members and student volunteers for the success of the club’s initiatives.
