Chandigarh/ Training and capacity building workshop organized at Government College of Education

Chandigarh : Directorate of School Education, Chandigarh Administration in collaboration with Government College of Education, Sector 20, Chandigarh has organized a two days training and capacity building of PFMS finance, income tax & Procurement of goods for Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) and Account Functionaries under Samagra Shiksha, Chandigarh Administration. This training program was successfully conducted under the leadership of Shri. Harsuhinder Pal Singh Brar, Director School education, Chandigarh to enhance working knowledge on PFMS and accounting matters as per mandate of Ministry of Education, Government of India.

The event was attended by around 230 participants comprising of Principals and account functionaries of the Government Schools (Cluster 1 to 10& 11 to 20), and SCERT-32, Chandigarh Administration.
This workshop was graced by the presence of Ms. Bindu Arora, Dy. State Project Director, as the Chief Guest, along with Ms. Indra Beniwal, Mission Coordinator of Samagra Shiksha, Chandigarh. Both dignitaries highlighted the importance of building capacity in financial management and procurement processes, which are crucial for the success of the Samagra Shiksha initiative.

The Principal of the college, Dr. Sapna Nanda formally welcomed the dignitaries and attendees and a brief introduction regarding workshop was given by Naresh Kumar, Assistant Controller (F&A), Samgra Shiksha, Chandigarh. Shri. Naresh Kumar emphasized the importance of such training programs in enhancing administrative efficiency and ensuring compliance with updated protocols.
The sessions for event were delivered by the keynote speakers- Anil Kamboj, AC (F&A) on procurement/ GeM, Vikas Bansal, C.A. on Income Tax & TDS on GST and Narender Singh, Technical Assistant, PFMS Headquarter, Chandigarh on PFMS.

This initiative aimed to equip all accounts and administrative functionaries with the latest instructions and guidelines. Faculty members associated with funds, grants, GeM (Government e-Marketplace) were also encouraged to participate. The workshop included important sessions on Income Tax and PFMS (Public Financial Management System), providing valuable insights for effective financial management. All the sessions were well received and appreciated by the participants.
