Chandigarh/ Trinity Hospital hosted 15th Live & Cadaveric Spine Endoscopy (UBE Simplified) Course 2024

Chandigarh : The 15th Live & Cadaveric Spine Endoscopy (UBE Simplified) Course 2024 was organized by Trinity Hospital, Zirakpur, in collaboration with the Government Medical College & Hospital (GMCH-32), Chandigarh on 28th and 29th September 2024. Under the aegis of the World Endoscopic Spine Surgery Society (WESS), this prestigious event brought together around 100 leading ortho, neuro & spine surgeons from across India and around the world.
Dr. Mohinder Kaushal, the Organizing Chairman and President of WESS informed, the course showcased the latest advancements in Unilateral Biportal Endoscopy (UBE) techniques, alongside other state-of-the-art surgical methods and included live surgeries, hands-on cadaveric workshops, and interactive discussions.
He emphasized the critical importance of mastering minimally invasive techniques like UBE and Arthrospine Duo, which not only promise quicker recovery times but also minimize trauma for patients. During the course, he proudly introduced the Arthrospine Endoscopic Spine System, a ground-breaking system that operates in both dry and saline modes, offering unparalleled versatility for spinal procedures.
Day two of the event took place at GMCH-32, where the cadaveric workshop provided participants with invaluable hands-on training in endoscopic spine surgery. Surgeons honed their skills using live cadaveric models, guided by expert faculty, in a state-of-the-art setup that replicates real-life surgical conditions. This intensive, practical experience significantly shortens the learning curve for minimally invasive spine techniques and allows for direct application of advanced skills.
The event was graced by distinguished guests, including Dr. Sudhir Kumar Garg, Medical Superintendent & HOD, Orthopaedics, GMCH-32; Dr. A K Attri, Director Principal, GMCH-32; Dr. Mahesh K. Sharma, HOD, Anatomy, GMCH-32; Prof. Vijay G. Goni, Professor at PGIMER and President of the Chandigarh Spine Society; and Dr. Vijay Kumar, from the Punjab Medical Council.
