Sonipat/ Paras Health Gurugram Launches First Liver Transplant and GI Oncology OPD at Tulip Hospital

Sonipat : To provide specialized healthcare in Sonipat, Paras Health Gurugram has announced the launch of its first Liver Transplant and GI Oncology Out Patient Department (OPD) services at Tulip Hospital. The aim of launching these services is to provide state-of-the-art treatment for liver and gastrointestinal (GI) diseases to the people living in Sonipat and its surrounding areas, often such services are available in most metro cities but such service is now available in Sonipat as well. A press conference was held in this regard at New Bulbul Restaurant, Atlas Road, Sonipat.
The newly established OPD will be headed by Dr. Vaibhav Kumar, Director, Institute of Liver and GI Surgery, Paras Health Gurugram. Dr. Kumar is a highly experienced surgeon in performing complex procedures including gallbladder cancer surgery, living donor liver transplant, pediatric liver transplant and liver cancer surgery. With his expertise, he will provide consultation on treatment and surgery for liver and GI related diseases in the region through OPD. However, the surgery for treating these diseases will be done at Paras Health, Gurugram.
Dr. Vaibhav Kumar expressed his commitment to provide standard care to patients in Sonipat. He further added, “We are excited to provide OPD services for liver transplant and GI oncology in the Sonipat region, these areas have long required specialized medical attention. Our goal is to provide the latest treatment and surgery options locally, so that patients do not have to travel to other cities for the necessary care. By setting up this OPD, we hope to have a positive impact on the health of our patients.”
Liver diseases and GI cancers require specialized care, often involving intricate surgical procedures and long-term management. With the introduction of liver transplant services, patients suffering from end-stage liver disease, acute liver failure and some liver cancers will now have the opportunity to receive life-saving treatment closer to home. The living donor liver transplant program is particularly commendable, providing an alternative to liver transplant for patients who cannot wait for a deceased donor liver.
Dr Anurag Arora, Director, Internal Medicine & Cardiologist, Tulip Hospital, said, “The introduction of Liver Transplant and GI Oncology OPD services at Tulip Hospital is a major milestone in our mission to provide the best possible healthcare to the residents of Sonipat. Our partnership with Paras Health will ensure that our patients receive specialized care and timely consultation, leading to significant improvements in treatment for serious liver and GI diseases. We are proud to be a part of this initiative and look forward to serving our community with the highest standards of care and improved treatment.”
The OPD services will focus on the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal tract cancers, including esophageal, stomach, colorectal and pancreatic cancers. The availability of these services in Sonipat will provide patients with comprehensive care, from early detection and diagnosis to surgical intervention.
