Chandigarh : Dr Ravindra Khaiwal has been listed among the top environmental scientists by Research.com, a leading academic platform for global researchers. He works as a professor of environmental health at the Department of Community Medicine and School of Public Health (DCM&SPH), PGIMER, Chandigarh.
Dr. Khaiwal has authored over 150 original research publications andhas been cited over 16,000 times. He also has a HIRSCH factor of ‘57’ based on Scopus and other sources. Recently, he was also listed among the top 2% of environmental scientists globally, with India ranking 1st and international 130th, according to Stanford University, in the ‘Atmospheric science’ category.
Dr. Khaiwal has received several awards and scholarships in the environmental health field. He has won an ‘Environmentalist of the Year 2007: Around the Globe’ and ‘Eminent Scientist’ in 2023 awardsfrom the National Environmental Science Academy (NESA), India. He was the finalist of the ‘Elsevier NASI-SCOPUS 2014’ Young Scientist Award. In 2018, he was awarded the IVLP Fellowship by the US Department of State, USA. He has been honored with the PN Raju Oration Award2019 in Public Health (Environment) by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), MoHFW, New Delhi, India. He has been conferred the ‘Presidential Award 2021’ award by the Indian Association of Preventive & Social Medicine (IAPSM), India, for his services to improve public health.
